The Musketeers fought hard in both games this past weekend and mounted two more gritty comeback attempts only to fall short to West Washington on Friday night and Crothersville on Saturday night. On Friday night, the Musketeers, but being outscored 12-1 in the second quarter proved to be the bulk of the difference in the game as the M's went into the half, down 32-15. In the second half, the Musketeers battled back and had an opportunity to cut it to double digits, before eventually falling 59-47. Jeffrey Fowler lead the way with 18 pts after hitting 3 triples. Trenton Friedmeyer chipped in 9 points, while Chase Batt and Carter Smith both had 7 rebounds to lead in that category. Saturday night was a tough, early turnaround for the Musketeers as they hosted a really quick Crothersville team that pressed the Musketeers from start to finish. The Musketeers battled hard to overcome fatigue and a double figure second half deficit in order to have the ball, down three in the last minute of the game as Kort Rice stepped up and made two late game threes and the M's dug deep with some pressure of their own to try and pull out the win, but Crothersville's backcourt of Tymir Cromwell (24 pts) and Carter Jones (22 pts) proved to be too much. Leading the way with a double-double was senior, Brody Temple who scored 19 pts and collected 10 boards. Trenton Friedmeyer was close to a double-double himself with 8 pts and 10 rebounds, while Jeffrey Fowler scored 17 pts for the Musketeers. The M's are back in action this weekend when they host Crawford County on Friday night before traveling to Clarksville on Saturday evening.
