CAI Golf Earns Win Over Eastern at Covered Bridge By: Trey Denny The CAI golf team continued its strong spring play Thursday night, earning a 184–197 victory over Eastern in a nine‑hole match on the back nine at Covered Bridge Golf Club. CAI was paced by Grant Denny, who turned in a steady round of 39. Denny was consistent throughout the evening and provided a solid anchor at the top of the lineup. Nate Hirschy followed with a 42, once again showing dependable play and helping keep the team on track. Depth proved important for CAI, as Cooper Lewis carded a 51 after settling in following an early setback. Shane Black rounded out the team scoring with a 52 in what was nearly the best round of his career. Black played solid golf throughout the match and remained composed until a difficult final hole pushed his score higher, but his overall performance reflected continued progress. Following the match, the CAI coach credited the team’s recent work on the practice range. “We’ve been working very hard in practice, and it’s really starting to show,” the coach said. “We’re seeing much more consistent shots approaching and around the greens, and that’s helping us put together better rounds as a team.” Eastern was led by Levi Nale, who posted a strong 42. Axle Lee added a 51, while Conor Miller and Baker Jones each came in with 52. Eastern’s lineup featured a large group of freshmen, and their talent and ability were evident throughout the round. The young Musketeers played with confidence, competed on every hole, and showed impressive skill for their experience level, signaling a very bright future for the program. The match was played in a competitive but respectful atmosphere, with both teams displaying excellent sportsmanship. CAI will look to carry this momentum into upcoming matches, while Eastern’s young and talented roster continues to gain valuable experience that should pay dividends in the seasons ahead.
