This past May, Addison and Avery Smith signed with Franklin College to continue their careers as student athletes while playing Volleyball for the Grizzlies. Franklin is a Division III school, south of Indianapolis, that participates in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Their volleyball program is lead by Coach Dillon Taylor. When asked why they chose Franklin College, Avery shared: "I wanted to go to a small school and I love the coaching staff and culture they have created for their program!" Her sister Addison had similar sentiments sharing: "Franklin is a close-knit community, it is close proximity to home, and it offers exactly what I need for my future career choice. I also loved all the coaches, players and the culture they have created for their volleyball program." Both Lady Musketeers were multi-sport athletes participating in volleyball, basketball and track. They were key members in two sectional championships and a regional title in volleyball and a state championship for the Lady M's in basketball. Both were all conference players in the MSC their junior year and in the SAC their senior year with Addison earning player of the year honors. They earned IHSVCA All District honors their junior and senior years along with Academic All State and All State honors their senior year as well. In addition to all of their athletic accomplishments, they excelled in the classroom as well earning Associate Degrees from Ivy Tech this past May while graduating Sigma Cum Laude. Addison and Avery have been outstanding, multi-sport student athletes for Eastern and have left their mark as a Lady Musketeers and members of the Eastern community. Congratulations Lady M's on an accomplished career and best of luck in your next part of your journey at Franklin College.
