Lady M's Volleyball participates in John Breeding Invitational at New Albany defeating #5 in 2A Tecumseh

The Lady M's volleyball team traveled to New Albany on Saturday morning to play some heavy competition in the always challenging John Breeding Invitational in an attempt to seek major challenges as they prepare for the state tournament in a few weeks. In the first match of the morning, they took on host 4A New Albany and let an early lead slip away in set one losing 25-21 and then didn't recover in set two to lose 25-12. Immediately after that match they played 2A #5 Tecumseh and earned a tough victory in 3 sets, 25-20, 17-25, and 15-11. After a short break, the ladies took on #29 in all classes, 4A Castle and took them to the brink losing in 3 sets, 22-25, 25-19, 12-15. To end the day, the ladies lost to Silver Creek in two sets, 11-25, 11-25 struggling to execute and get anything going. It was a challenging day that the team needed being exposed to some of the best in Southern Indiana high school volleyball. The ladies will play at North Harrison on Wednesday and then host Borden in a pivotal SAC match-up at home on Thursday before traveling to Trinity Lutheran on Saturday to play Jennings County and Bedford North Lawrence. Record: 16-5, 6-0 - ranked #6 in 2A Some stat highlights from the day.. vs. New Albany (Avery Smith - 8 kills, Eliza Starrett - 9 digs, Addie Smith - 13 assists, Ashton Johanningsmeier and Sidney Burton - 2 Aces) vs. Tecumseh (Avery Smith -15 kills, Sidney Burton and Avery Smith -3 Aces each, Leah Hobson and Emma Brawner - 1 block each, Addie Smith - 12 digs, Avery Smith - 10 digs, Addie Smith - 14 assists) vs. Castle (Avery Smith - 16 kills, Sidney Burton - 9 kills and 4 Aces, Addison Smith - 12 digs and 20 assists, Eliza Starrett -7 digs vs. Silver Creek (Sidney Burton - 5 kills, Addison Smith - 9 digs and 7 assists)
