A battle of the unbeatens in the Southern Athletic Conference took place in All For One Arena last night as the Lady Musketeers hosted the Borden Lady Braves. The energy in the AFO was electric as the Musketeer faithful came out with a strong student section to create an amazing atmosphere. The Lady M's did not disappoint as they raced to an early 7-0 lead in route to a 25-13 set one win. In set two, Eastern continued to apply the pressure and won 25-11. The third set was a battle to the end, but the Lady M's pulled out a 25-23 win to finalize the 3 set victory. Avery Smith lead the way with 17 kills and 15 digs. Ashton Johanningsmeier had a career high with 8 kills herself. Eliza Starrett finished with 14 digs and recently went over 1000 digs on her career. Sidney Burton had 6 kills, 8 digs and 3 aces as she recently went over 150 recorded aces for her career. Addie Smith had 29 assists, 11 digs, 5 kills and 2 aces as she went over 2000 assists on her career. Emma Brawner was a problem at the net for the Braves playing some inspired volleyball that lead to 3 kills and 2 blocks, but more importantly, she got several touches on Borden's attack attempts and altered a lot of shots causing a lot of havoc.
